DND announced today that Two RCAF CF-18 Hornet jets successfully led their third airstrike against ISIS in Syria. Using precision guided munitions the CF-18's hit an ISIS compound near Al Hasakah, Syria on June 9th 2015. The Aircrew returned safely to base.
Furthermore, DND announced that on June 10, 2015, two CF-18s bombed an ISIS fighting position near Bayji, Iraq.

RCAF CF-18's Strike near Bayji - helping retake the City
The RCAF announced today that multiple CF-18 Hornets bombed ISIS positions in and around the Iraqi city of Bayji, which houses Iraq's largest Oil refinery. With the help of coalition forces, Iraqi ground forces were successful in retaking Bayji from ISIS.

Canada in Iraq: Four CF-18s Bomb ISIS Targets
DND released more information early this morning about Canada's mission against ISIS, which has seen a slow down in the number of air strikes.
On May 6 two RCAF CF-18s hit an ISIS fighting position north of the city of Bayji.
On May 8, a RCAF CF-18 attacked an ISIS target during a "roadside bomb installation" south-east of the city of Haditha.
On May 9, a RCAF CF-18 bombed an ISIS fighting position north of Bayji.
No new details on the expanded mission in Syria, which has been quiet since Canada's first strikes, due in large part to the lack of allies on the ground.
